The 2x3 Reduces Green House Gas Emissions
Each Dos por Tres stove has been validated to reduce CO2 emissions by 2.73 metric tons each year. Proyecto Mirador has built more than 25,000 stoves since inception in 2004.
When scaled up to thousands of stoves, these savings help offset the annual 2-6 tons of CO2 greenhouse gas emissions of each person in the developed world (WRI - World Resources Institute). The WRI also states:
In the medium and long term, a world-wide average emission rate of maximum 2 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per person per year must be targeted. This amount is now considered to be the maximum allowed quantity for sustainable living on earth.
